I am a cultural anthropologist (Ph.D. Rice University, 2006) who works at the Los Angeles office of Shook Kelley. Founded in 1992 and with offices in Charlotte, NC and LA, Shook Kelley is a strategy and design firm that works for a wide variety of consumer-based businesses and organizations, focusing on food retailers, as well as a wide range of other clients, such as urban districts, universities and financial centers. Our projects typically begin with a research/discovery and strategy process in which we study our client brand, customer audiences, environments and competitive marketplaces. Based on this research, we craft a business, brand and design strategy for our clients. These strategies help guide and focus innovative design solutions in order to create real, tangible experiences for our clients. Some recent clients include: USAA, Hess, United Supermarkets (TX), Bashas’ Grocery Stores (AZ), Downtown Santa Monica, Pepperdine University, SM Supermalls (Philippines) and Cadbury/Kraft Foods.
